Background:
Opened in 1834, the school moved to its current premises in 1906. It offers 10 classrooms and a 35-place nursery class. In addition to the National Curriculum, a range of after-school activities is offered, including ICT, cross-country, football, netball, rounders, French, DT, homework club and choir, as well as an activity weekend for Year 6 children. The school also provides ICT classes for adult. It is part of a community project with a local high school which provides tuition in a variety of sports skills, both in school time and at an after school club. The school choir performs at old peoples homes and a special school, and is part of a larger choir at the MEN arena. The school has close links with St Peter's Church. Pupils regularly raise money for charities such as UNICEF, Barnardos and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
