Background:
Sacred Heart is a Voluntary Aided School within the Archdiocese of Liverpool, founded in the 1870's. Originally two separate establishment for Infants and Juniors until a new building was erected in 1996 for the newly amalgamated Primary School. In October 2000, funding was made available for a new classroom, a library and additional toilet facilities. Sacred Heart is situated within well-kept grounds. With 156 pupils' on role, Sacred Heart is a fairly small Catholic school with a warm and family ethos. Sacred Heart was presented with a DfES Achievement Award in 2003. It provides Extra-curricular activities such as netball, football and athletics.
