Background:
Clifton Primary School is a co-educational maintained community primary school catering for children from three to 11 years of age. The school is situated off the main A666 Manchester to Bolton near the junction (16) with the M60. The school has recently had four new classrooms and information technology suite built. A purpose-built early years unit was also added a few years ago. A foundation unit has been set up in September 2004 catering for nursery and reception children. The school promotes several out of school activities including sports teams, drama and music. Over the last few years the school has won a local championships, particularly in the fields of cross-country running and athletics. The school also promotes netball, football, cricket, gymnastics and swimming. The school has a thriving music tradition and children have the chance to learn an instrument. The school aim is to provide the highest quality education for every child entrusted to its care.
