Background:

Cheetwood Primary School was opened in July 1973. It attracts a whole cross-section of Manchester's population. The multi-cultural nature of the school population and its inner-city locality close to the heart of Manchester are a constant source of inspiration for children's work and activities. The school has managed to expand and resource major areas of the curriculum and to complete three phases of major refurbishment to the building. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs which include drama, homework club, gymnastics, netball, computer, dance, ballet, reading, art and craft, guitar, violin and two judo clubs. Visits are arranged to fit in with class topics. The school does charity work once a year helping different causes. It holds fund raising activities throughout the year organised by the children and staff. The school aims to provide an orderly and caring community in which all children can learn and understand, in a happy and secure atmosphere.
