Background:
Opened in 1898, the school consists of a two storey building and basement. It has its own playing field, hard play areas and early-years play areas, including a soft-fall area. There is also a purpose-built community wing which is fully utilised on weekdays. Langworthy runs two football teams, a netball team and a cricket team, and also participates in a seven-a-side rugby league competition. The school is 'at the heart' of the Langworthy community and, following local authority bids, major improvements to the area are scheduled.
