Background:
St Monica's Roman Catholic Primary School recognises each child's uniqueness and worth as a human being made in God's image with an eternal destiny. The curriculum includes learning all those activities which are designed to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils which prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life and society. Pupils listen carefully and respond physically to a wide range of music. They play musical instruments and sing a variety of songs from memory, adding accompaniments and creating short compositions, with increasing confidence, imagination and control. Some children wanting to further their enjoyment of sport join local clubs. There are a number of local clubs that provide coaching for athletics, basketball, cricket, cross-country running, football and swimming. " The school recognises each child's uniqueness and worth as a human being made in God's image with an eternal destiny. The child is at the centre of everything it does in school." .
