Background:

South Chadderton School is a co-educational 11-16, single site comprehensive school that caters for children of all abilities. It is situated three miles from the centre of Oldham, on the south side of the town close to the Manchester boundary. The school is a learning campus sharing the site with Whitegate End Primary and Nursery School and the City Learning Centre. The school grounds are extensive and well maintained. The majority of classrooms have interactive whiteboards, which allow staff to use the very best of modern technology for teaching. There are two ICT suites with networked computers. The school is well equipped with a specialist art and technology block, newly refurbished science laboratories, gym and large sports hall. It provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities and holidays. The school has recently achieved Artsmark Silver award and Healthy Schools award, which shows its commitment to a full range of educational experiences for its students. The school aims to provide a caring, supportive and challenging environment where students, whatever their level of ability, can achieve their personal best.
