Built in the mid-1960s, the well-equipped school is set in extensive grounds. It serves a mixed community and draws its pupils from a new and established estates and rural areas. There is a proposed building programme to expand to two-form entry in September 2002. It offers football, kwik cricket, cricket, netball, shinty/hockey and short tennis. Extra-curricular activities include computers, art and aerobics. Chadderton Hall shares an after-school care facility with the playgroup and infant school.
